Kinetic has announced the commencement of additional government-contracted bus services in Perth, Western Australia. The expansion reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to investing in transportation infrastructure and serving local communities.

As part of its strategic growth initiative, Kinetic has integrated school services into its operations in Perth’s southeastern region through acquisition. This move aligns with the company’s goal of expanding its footprint in Western Australia and collaborating with the Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia to enhance transportation options.

The announcement follows Kinetic’s acquisition of Dingo Bus, a Perth-based company, in 2023, which has contributed to the company’s growing portfolio of government-contracted bus services in the region.

Sarah Ismail, Kinetic’s Executive General Manager for Western Australia, said: “We’re driven by our desire to provide safe, reliable and sustainable bus services, and Perth is an important region in our strategy where we believe we can bring significant value to local communities through investment and innovation.”

In addition to its operations in Western Australia, Kinetic maintains long-term commitments to communities across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. In Melbourne, the company manages a substantial portion of the city’s bus network as the custodian of the Metropolitan Bus Franchise since 2022.

Kinetic has also demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by transitioning key depots to accommodate a growing fleet of zero-emission buses in Melbourne. Furthermore, the company has worked to diversify its workforce, increasing the number of female drivers within its ranks.

Kinetic has over 250 electric buses in its network across Australasia. In Auckland, the company is engaged in a significant transformation project, having completed significant electrification upgrades at four depots and introducing 152 electric buses in partnership with Auckland Transport.

Looking ahead, Kinetic aims to further its partnership in Western Australia by delivering reliable bus services that meet the needs of local communities. Ismail expressed optimism about the company’s future prospects, highlighting ongoing investments in fleet expansion, depot infrastructure and personnel development.

As Kinetic continues its focus on service delivery, the company remains open to potential acquisitions that align with its strategic objectives, offering opportunities for growth and innovation in the transportation sector.
