Uber Transit

In recent years, microtransit – which is characterised by its on-demand, flexible and shared nature that is often facilitated by technology platforms – has emerged as a solution to address the challenges of traditional public transportation systems by offering riders greater convenience, reduced wait times and optimised routes, subsequently making it an attractive complement to traditional fixed-route options.

Due to its obvious benefits, microtransit solutions have been marked by growing popularity and experimentation in various urban and suburban areas worldwide. However, the landscape is still evolving, with various public and private entities working to navigate regulatory, operational and financial hurdles to integrate microtransit effectively into broader transportation ecosystems. MaaS platforms will play a big role in this development.

Join us for this webinar, during which our speakers will offer their insight into successful microtransit schemes; discuss the role that the solution can play in tackling transit deserts and improving transit equity; consider the challenges that are faced when integrating microtransit into existing transit networks; and share their thoughts on what the future of microtransit may look like.
