Voi Technology has announced that its e-scooters and e-bikes have become integral components of Liverpool’s transportation network, offering cost-effective options for residents to navigate the city. Over the past three years, more than 22,000 people have taken advantage of the discount schemes, resulting in collective savings exceeding £600,000.
Designed to promote accessibility and affordability, the discount programme caters to a diverse range of demographics, including low-income groups, medical workers and students. The ‘Voi 4 All’, ‘Voi for Heroes’ and ‘Voi 4 Students’ passes provide discounts ranging from 20% to 50%, making travel more financially feasible for many individuals.
Notably, the ‘Voi 4 Heroes’ pass has benefited over 16,000 individuals, including NHS staff, Blue Light Card holders, military personnel and veterans, resulting in savings exceeding £500,000. In addition, more than 2,200 low-income individuals have saved 50% through the ‘Voi 4 All’ pass, totalling over £49,000 in savings. Similarly, over 3,200 students have saved 20% with the ‘Voi 4 Students’ pass, amounting to over £21,000.
These discount schemes, developed in collaboration with local authorities and communities, reflects the micro-mobility operator’s commitment to promoting equitable access to transportation. Interested individuals can apply for the discounts through the Voi website.
Jack Samler, Voi General Manager UK, Ireland and France, said: “I’m delighted that so many people in Liverpool have benefited from being able to travel to work, education or social events more affordably thanks to our discount scheme. As a sustainable operator, it’s important to us that our service is affordable, socially inclusive and accessible to everyone and we are proud to work with our local authority partners to create this range of tailored discounts to cater for people with varied economic circumstances.”
As cities work to address transportation challenges, initiatives like Voi’s discount programme in Liverpool contribute positively to the city’s mobility landscape, offering residents more choices for sustainable urban transportation.
