FlixBus expands UK network with direct routes to Amsterdam
In line with its commitment to provide affordable and sustainable travel options for passengers, FlixBus is expanding its UK network with the introduction of direct routes to Amsterdam from Leeds and Bristol.
FlixBus has announced its plans to introduce direct services from Leeds and Bristol to Amsterdam, along with extending its route between London and Penzance for the summer season. The new services are set to provide affordable and sustainable travel options for passengers.
Starting from 13 July 2023, FlixBus will offer travel between several cities including Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Cambridge, Stratford, North Greenwich, Antwerp, Utrecht and Amsterdam. The operation of this service will be handled by Whippet Coaches, a long-term partner of FlixBus.
Following that, from 21 July 2023, FlixBus will commence services from Bristol to Bruges, Rotterdam and Amsterdam, with routes passing through London. These services will operate five days a week and will be facilitated by its partner, Turners Coaches, based in Bristol.
FlixBus had entered the UK market two years ago and has rapidly expanded its presence since then. It now serves over 50 destinations within the UK and provides regular services to various locations in Europe. As part of its growth strategy, FlixBus is extending its services from London to the South West, covering destinations such as Newquay, Hayle and Penzance for the summer season. This route will be operated twice daily by Berrys Coaches.
Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK, said: “Summer travel just became more affordable and sustainable than ever thanks to our new international and domestic routes. We’re building the largest coach network in the country and as part of our unique offering, we’ll become the first coach provider offering regular scheduled services from cities like Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and Bristol into Amsterdam, as one of the most popular destinations in Europe.”
FlixBus is part of the wider Flix group, which encompasses brands such as FlixTrain, Greyhound, and Kamil Koc, offering travel options to 5,500 destinations across 42 countries. The company aims to solidify its position as a key player in the coach industry.
