By surveying customers across 17 European markets, the data compiled has shown that millions of car journeys have been avoided as a result of people choosing to use Bolt scooters rather than cars.
According to Dott's latest data, the energy crisis has encouraged more people across Europe to travel using its e-scooter and e-bike services, with 69% of those who previously used cars now using them less.
As part of an expansion of their partnership, TIER's micro-mobility vehicles are now available through Google Maps in over 200 more cities worldwide, including locations in Israel and Ireland for the first time.
Following Car Free Days in Paris and Brussels on 18 September 2022, Dott's e-scooters and e-bikes have seen a significant boost in ridership, with a total of 59,000 rides having taken place across both cities that day.
With the research highlighting the gender disparity in shared micro-mobility usage, Dott is working on initiatives to make its e-scooters more accessible for all, including the creation of women only training sessions.
In line with its commitment to provide emission free public transport by 2035, De Lijn's new integrated charging and depot management software will support the electrification of its bus fleet.
In addition to providing e-scooter and e-bike information to more cities through Google Maps, Dott has also launched its micro-mobility services in new countries such as Sweden, Israel and the Netherlands.
The first-of-its-kind partnership aims to bring more diverse riders into micro-mobility by offering residents across the city of Ghent with Dott and BAQME e-bikes and e-cargo bikes.
In addition to incorporating Dott’s e-bikes to its app for the first time, Citymapper has also added its shared e-scooters to new cities across Europe.
In order to meet growing rider demand across Brussels, Dott has expanded its fleet of e-bikes and launched a fleet of its next generation of e-scooters in the Belgian city.
As a part of the implementation of its Bus Master Plan, STIB-MIVB’s new bus line will strengthen the public transport offer around Boulevard Industriel – connecting Gare du Midi to CERIA.
Following the launch of 2,000 of its e-scooters in Brussels, marking its arrival in Belgium, TIER Mobility plans to further expand its presence in the city by evolving towards a multimodal service.
Now operating in nine countries and 38 cities, as well as successfully becoming multimodal, Dott supported 130 per cent more trips in 2021 compared to 2020.
The approval for the order of the new electric buses represents another step by De Lijn towards operating a fully zero-emission fleet by 2035.
