Following the launch of Neuron’s e-scooters in the cities of Stirling and Busselton in 2022, this latest trial marks the micro-mobility operator’s third launch in Western Australia.

Neuron Mobility has announced that it has been selected to provide e-scooters in the City of Perth, Australia, as part of a two-year trial. The trial had been launched with 250 of Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters on 18 March 2023, with e-scooter riders now able to travel across Perth CBD and surrounding suburbs including East Perth, Crawley and Northbridge.
The micro-mobility operator’s selection in the city is due to a strong track record of partnering with cities, and its experience when it comes to safety and innovation. The City of Perth will be Neuron’s third launch in Western Australia, after launching Perth Metro’s first e-scooter trial in the City of Stirling in February 2022, followed by Busselton in December 2022.
Neuron’s e-scooters have been purpose-built to a commercial grade, specifically for renting and are fitted with cutting edge safety-features, including an app-controlled helmet lock, voice guidance, a Follow My Ride feature, an emergency button and topple detection.
Neuron’s e-scooters help reduce car use and congestion, improve air quality, as well as boost the local economy. According to its research, titled Shared Rides, Shared Wealth, two thirds of Neuron e-scooter journeys result in a purchase with a local business across Australia.
Riders will be able to unlock and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. In order to learn how to ride safely, users can also visit the micro-mobility operator’s education platform, ScootSafe Academy, an interactive, online riding school with city-specific training content that can help to educate riders.
Neuron Mobility will work with the City of Perth to deliver a safe, convenient and environmentally friendly service to the city’s residents.
