Neuron Mobility has announced that its riders have now travelled more than two million kilometres across its six Canadian cities since 2021. Due to the micro-mobility operator’s city partners and riders, this has helped avoid an estimated 170 tonnes of CO2 emissions by replacing car journeys.
Neuron Mobility entered the Canadian market in May 2021, and has since expanded across the country, now operating in Ottawa, Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Airdrie and Vernon. Calgary, Lethbridge, and Vernon riders now also have the option of using Neuron e-bikes.
Riders in Calgary have led the way when it comes to adopting micro-mobility into their daily lives. Of the total kilometres travelled in Canada to date, Calgary riders have travelled more than one million kilometres on Neuron e-scooters since their launch in the city in 2021. The micro-mobility operator’s success in the city illustrates how impactful a shared micro-mobility programme can be as a strategic part of the city’s transportation network.

Airdrie was the sixth and most recent city in Canada to offer Neuron’s micro-mobility services since July 2022. In the same month, the company also launched a fleet of e-scooters fully equipped with its most advanced technologies in Ottawa, making the Canadian capital the first city in the world to implement Neuron Mobility’s new ‘e-scooter brain’ across an entire e-scooter fleet.
Neuron’s High Accuracy Location Technology, Rapid Geofence Detection and Dangerous Riding Detection have been extensively tested in Ottawa as part of a global trial. Using these technologies, the micro-mobility company can provide high accuracy geofencing, designate precise smart parking locations and also help detect and control sidewalk riding.
