Neuron Mobility has announced that its distinctive orange e-scooters will now be available to ride across more areas in Rockhampton, Australia, as of 24 June 2022.

The expanded riding area will mean residents will be able to travel from the Rockhampton City Centre to surrounding suburbs including Berserker, Frenchville, Kawana and West Rockhampton.

Since first launching in February 2022, Neuron’s e-scooters have been embraced by locals and tourists alike, with close to 200,000km travelled in the city. The micro-mobility company’s recent survey found that 98 per cent of users believe Neuron has created a positive impact for the city. The average trip length in the city is 2.4km, with 54 per cent of all trips replacing a car journey. In addition, it found that 19 per cent of trips wouldn’t have taken place at all if the e-scooters weren’t available.

Rockhampton is the fourth city in Queensland to benefit from Neuron’s e-scooters, with successful operations running in Brisbane, Townsville and Bundaberg. The micro-mobility company’s selection in the city follows a strong track record of partnering with councils, which is further highlighted with this latest expansion in the region.
