Transdev Germany has announced that its subsidiary in Edenkoben, Palatina Bus GmbH, has successfully defended and expanded its services in the Neustadt/Weinstraße area in Germany. The contract will last for a period of 10 years and will go into effect in December 2022.
As the result of the new contract, the existing traffic in the Neustadt bundle of 1.7 million timetable kilometres per year has been secured and will also grow by an additional 1.3 million timetable kilometres per year.
Therefore, Palatina Bus will operate around 75 buses on 12 routes in the Landau-Speyer-Neustadt/Weinstraße city triangle as of the end of 2022.

By winning this key contract, Marcus Weigl, Palatina Bus’s Managing Director, sees the company on a healthy path of growth. Weigl said: “We are all very relieved about this news and are pleased that we can continue the 110-year-old history of Palatina Bus at its headquarters in Edenkoben. Our employees are closely associated with the company, which is rich in tradition, and can now look to the future with confidence.”
For Manfred Kienzler, Head of Business Development for the Bus South Region of Transdev Germany, success in this award is a result of local operational and planning expertise, as well as valuable support from the entire project team. Kienzler said: “Not only the price was decisive in this tender, but also the offer of added qualities and additional services, such as vehicles and a marketing concept. This would have ultimately tipped the scales.”
