Transdev Germany has announced that its subsidiary INGmobil GmbH in the Ingelheim area, southwest of Frankfurt-am-Mainz, has been awarded a new contract to provide bus services on behalf of the regional transit authority of Kommunalverkehr Rhein-Nahe GmbH (KRN), following a completed tender process.

The contract, which covers approximately 0.98 million bus kilometres per year, including on-demand bus services, is for the regional bus services in the district of Mainz-Bingen. A total of 20 buses will be operated under the INGmobil brand on 30 routes in the service area between Bad Kreuznach, Ingelheim and Mainz. The contract, which requires around 30 employees, will run for a period of 10 years and will commence on 17 October 2022.

“We are very pleased about this new contract, as it fits very well with our current transport services in the region. It also allows us to compensate for expiring contracts within the Bus South-West region in 2022 and secure jobs,” said Karsten Krämer, INGmobil’s Managing Director.

This is yet another contract that is supporting Transdev’s success in Germany. In January 2022, it was announced that another of Transdev’s German subsidiaries, Württembergische Bus-Gesellschaft (WBG), was awarded a contract to act as the subcontractor for a new bus route in Stuttgart. From December 2022, WBG will operate the articulated buses between Korntal – Weilimdorf – Giebel. WBG secured this contract at the end of 2021, with an agreed annual mileage of 390,000km. With this new contract, WBG will oversee the operation of 55 buses on behalf of Verkehrs-und Tarifverbund Stuttgart GmbH (VVS) by the end of 2022.
