Lime subscription service offers unlimited week-long scooter unlocks

Lime has announced the launch of a new subscription service designed to help commuters and everyday scooter riders get the most out of micromobility.

The Lime week pass offers unlimited scooter unlocks for seven consecutive days, and it is said to be the first such weekly subscription pass to launch in the micromobility industry.

LimePass will be introduced in cities across the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, with rollouts in additional global markets scheduled for early January 2020. The subscription service is designed to meet the needs of a rapidly growing number of micromobility riders, simplifying commutes and rewarding those who depend on electric scooters and bikes for their day-to-day transportation needs.

“We know that more than 50 per cent of our riders worldwide trust Lime for their commutes and personal daily trips around the city,” said Kevin Shi, Product Manager at Lime. “With our new LimePass service, we’re proud to offer them a more cost-efficient way to get around town and manage their busy schedules.”

The launch hopes to support the movement of micromobility contributing towards cities’ Sustainable Development Goals. “Electric scooters provide a convenient, sustainable alternative to automobiles for urban travel,” said Andrew Savage, Head of Sustainability at Lime. “As major global cities seek to reduce car use and reach carbon neutrality – a must for our planet – micromobility can help curb carbon emissions and local pollution from day one.”
