NJ TRANSIT’s pilot programme allows customers to conveniently purchase tickets for the Atlantic City Rail Line online through the company website, offering greater flexibility and ease of access.
NJ TRANSIT has announced that it has introduced a pilot programme enabling customers to buy tickets for the Atlantic City Rail Line (ACRL) online through its website. The programme had officially launched on 31 May 2023.
“NJ TRANSIT continues to research and implement new ways to offer additional fare payment options for our customers,” said New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chair Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti. “This new pilot programme will give customers another way to purchase tickets and utilise our services, while expanding our customer base to include those who may not have access to the mobile app and may be more comfortable purchasing tickets through the website.”
“NJ TRANSIT is pleased to launch this pilot programme that will make it easier and more convenient for customers to buy tickets for the Atlantic City Rail Line,” said NJ TRANSIT President and CEO Kevin S. Corbett. “By leveraging technology, we are working to give customers as many options as possible to purchase tickets and passes, and we encourage customers to share their feedback with us as we evaluate its effectiveness and potential expansion to other rail lines.”
While NJ TRANSIT’s mobile app currently allows customers to purchase rail, light rail and bus tickets, the new pilot programme extends the online ticketing option to the ACRL directly through the company website. Customers only need a valid email address and a credit/debit card to buy tickets using a desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile phone with internet access.
In order to purchase tickets through the website ticketing programme, customers can visit the NJ TRANSIT website and follow these steps: select the origin and destination, choose the number of tickets, review the quantity and price, login or proceed as a guest, enter payment information and confirm the purchase. The tickets will be sent via email.
Currently, only tickets for the ACRL are available through this pilot programme. NJ TRANSIT plans to evaluate the programme’s success and assess its potential expansion to other rail lines and modes of transportation within its system.
