TIER and RAKTA sign agreement to operate micro-mobility services in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah

With this latest launch, Ras Al Khaimah becomes the seventh city in the Middle East to offer TIER Mobility’s e-scooter and e-bike services, providing residents and tourists with a more sustainable alternative mode of transport.

TIER Mobility has announced that Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has signed an operating agreement for the service of its e-scooters and e-bikes in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

H.E Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAKTA, said: “The operation of e-scooters and e-bikes will be across 10 key areas in Ras Al Khaimah, including tourist and vital sites in the emirate. RAKTA along with TIER, will work closely together to ensure both residents and tourists receive the highest standards of safety.”

TIER unveils latest in-app safety feature to tackle ‘drink-riding’

The e-scooters will solely consist of the TIER 5 model, which has state-of-the-art safety features, including three independent brakes, grippy handlebars, wide large tyres, in-app navigation and a bright light. In addition, TIER has equipped its latest generation with signal indicators that offer 360° visibility.

In addition, the e-bikes have pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. Each pedelec is equipped with a practical basket for storing luggage or shopping, as well as a charging phone holder for easy navigation.

All residents and tourists can use TIER e-scooters and e-bikes simply by downloading the company’s app, which will allow them to use the service when traveling to any of the 22 countries where the micro-mobility operator is located. Upon downloading the app, users can search for a TIER vehicle on the virtual map and unlock it by scanning the QR code. Riders can also use TIER’s virtual parking system to finish the journey by simply finding a designated safe parking location and pressing the ‘End Ride’ button.
