From 10 to 12 May 2022, Switchio will be in the southwestern German city of Karlsruhe, which every two years plays host to IT-TRANS, the world’s leading conference and exhibition devoted to intelligent urban transport systems. Following cancellation of the live format in 2020, organisers are once again preparing to open the doors at the Messe Karlsruhe trade fair centre to more than 7,000 visitors from all over the world, who are eager to learn about the latest developments in the digitalisation of public transport.

Since 2008, the IT-TRANS International Conference and Exhibition has been the premier platform for important decision-makers and experts in public transport to exchange ideas, experiences and inspiration. The event also represents one of the most important opportunities in the industry to establish new contacts and strengthen existing networks.

A window to the future of urban mobility

With more than 270 exhibitors from 35 countries, IT-TRANS 2022 will offer a broad cross-section of the dynamic multinationals, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups that have been driving the latest trends in public transport. Visitors to Messe Karlsruhe will see new technologies and directions in a number of key areas, including cyber-security, on-demand and flexible transport and autonomous mobility.

The line-up for 2022’s conference boasts some of the brightest minds in the industry. Over 180 experts will speak on subjects ranging from artificial intelligence, autonomous mobility and mobile ticketing, to data governance, integrated network management and smart cities. Scheduled to give the keynote speech is leading futurist, author and CEO of The Futures Agency, Gerd Leonhard, who in 2015 was ranked by WIRED magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in Europe.

Contactless ticketing at the forefront of the digitalisation movement

One of the hottest topics in recent years is contactless ticketing. The global transition to digital cEMV payments in public transport is picking up momentum thanks in large part to innovative solutions like the one developed by Switchio. Delivered as a white-label Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), the comprehensive payment gateway gives transport operators a vast array of sophisticated tools which can be used to streamline their fare and ticketing policies in a single digital platform. Following the interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the team at Switchio looks forward to presenting its unique product in person to the many industry colleagues and experts at IT-TRANS 2022.

Visit Switchio from 10 to 12 May 2022 at IT-TRANS in Hall No. 1, Stand I35.
