In cooperation with the Romanian license holder ‘Next Bike Romania’, the European bike-sharing operator is providing the hardware and software for the new VeloCity Buzău system.

Besides approximately 420 modern SMARTbikes, which feature seven gears and can be located via GPS, this agreement also includes 22 tricycles. In addition, 22 handbikes will be included in the system.

All bikes can be easily rented via the app and are now available at a total of 48 stations. At these stations, future customers can easily recharge the credit on their account via the payment terminal.

Through the scheme, VeloCity Buzău offers the approximately 110,000 residents not only a particularly accessible means of public transport, but also a sustainable and flexible one.

In the future, nextbike‘s offering in Romania will continue to grow, together with ‘Next Bike Romania’. In addition to the existing system in Topoloveni and the new system in Buzău, two further systems are also already planned for the coming year.
