The launch of the Group Ride feature comes after Lime first launched in the UAE in November 2019.
Urban mobility provider Lime has announced a new ‘Group Ride’ feature in the UAE, which allows users to unlock five scooters on one account.
After launching in the UAE in November 2019, Lime has included Abu Dhabi in its list of select cities that will be offered the feature.
Commenting on the November 2019 launch in the UAE, Mohamad Nsouli, General Manager for Lime in the UAE, said: “Abu Dhabi is a great city for electric scooters, and we’re really excited that it will be Lime’s first Gulf Cooperation Council market. We’re working closely with authorities to make the city even more connected and bring a fun, smart and convenient solution to get around.
“Now with our new Group Ride feature, many of our Lime riders can easily and safely share the joys and benefits of sustainable, accessible micro-mobility with their friends and family members. We believe this feature will simplify the experience for prospective riders looking to try our scooters,” he added.
To access the feature, riders tap the Group Ride icon on the Lime map screen and then follow the step-by-step guide. Guest rides can be started and/or ended at any time from the host account. It has been said that all users of the Group Ride feature must follow Lime regulations, and each user is still held accountable for their actions and ride behaviour.
