Passengers in South Yorkshire will soon be able to buy their one-day TravelMaster tickets through both the First mTickets app and the Stagecoach Bus app.
From 1 August 2018, all one-day TravelMaster tickets will be available through both apps; making it easier and more convenient for passengers to buy before they board. This means that one-day tickets can be bought in advance at home, at work or at the stop or station before a journey begins.
Passengers will simply buy their ticket on either app and then show their phone to the driver or conductor on-board once they’ve activated it. If they have a discounted GetAbout ticket they will also need to show their valid MegaTravel or 16-18 Travel Pass.
Matt Smallwood, General Manager of TravelMaster, said: “Our range of flexible one-day tickets already offers great value for transport users in the region and I’m pleased that we’re now able to offer them through the First and Stagecoach m-Ticket platforms.
“This is a great example of collaborative delivery that makes it even easier for our customers to access our range of one-day products at their own convenience whilst reducing the amount of time taken to issue TravelMaster products on-board which can contribute to delays.”
Passengers will be able to purchase the day versions of all TravelMaster multi-operator tickets which covers the CityBus & CityWide in Sheffield, BConnect in Barnsley, DonConnect in Doncaster, RConnect in Rotherham, SYConnect & SYConnect+ throughout South Yorkshire and the GetAbout & GetAbout+ tickets for under-18s.
