oBike has reached the milestone figure of 10 million trips made worldwide, now operating in over 60 cities across 20 countries oBike hopes to continue creating a more sustainable and scalable business model whilst boosting business and employment opportunities in the respective communities and countries it operates in. The company has reached the milestone in just 12 months since its launch in Singapore in January 2017.

“We are ecstatic that in a matter of months, oBike has hit a major milestone of 10 million trips across the world,” enthused Edward Chen, co-Founder of oBike. “oBike was founded with the mission of harnessing technology to create a greener way of commuting in urban cities and now we want to give back to the communities we operate in. This comes back full circle, creating a holistic and sustainable ecosystem.”

The franchise-like programme known as Global Business Partnership Programme (GBPP) in December 2017 may have helped reach this achievement. GBPP invited interested parties to manage oBike’s on-ground operations as business partners, established with the objective of harnessing the networks of local businesses to better optimise procedures, redeployment and maintenance of the bikes.

The business partners joining through GBPP receive the support of oBike’s technology, backend systems and product support in return whilst oBike continue working towards their goal to promote a greener and healthier mode of transport for urbanites.
