Easymile and 7Starlake have launched the EZ10 driverless shuttle for the first time in Taiwan at the National Taiwan University (NTU).
The EZ10 is an electric people-mover that has the capacity to transport up to 12 people (6 sitting and 6 standing), as well as cater to reduced mobility passengers.
It is manufactured by French light weight automobile maker Ligier and has a cruising speed of 20km/h.
The shuttle has no steering wheel and neither dedicated front nor back and at any point on its route the EZ10 can easily change its direction without needing a short turn. It is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery and a 230V, 16A battery charger.
The EZ10 is scheduled to start its first stage of testing in July at the NTU Shuiyuan Campus, and the second stage will see the EZ10 being tested in the NTU Campus with different transportation routes.
