Barclays Pingit ‘mobile check-out’ now included in Corethree’s mobile wallet for transport ticketing…
Corethree has formed a strategic partnership with Barclays for the inclusion of Barclays Pingit ‘mobile check-out’ in Corethree’s award winning mobile wallet for transport ticketing. This is a UK first in mobile commerce and sees the cutting edge UK tech company Corethree become the first business to integrate Barclays Pingit ‘mobile checkout’.
The service will be available via iPhone and Android devices on any mobile network, allowing bus passengers to browse, select, purchase and use bus tickets all from the convenience of their own mobile device.
Corethree’s systems integration and digital commerce platform, Core Engine, has seen passenger sales tripling every month this year and driven impressive passenger adoption for bus operations around the UK, with ticket volumes growing by over 1500% since January 2013.
The partnership with Barclays Pingit will help drive adoption and business for clients as well as offer consumers even greater choice and flexibility in their payment decisions. The groundbreaking Barclays Pingit ‘mobile checkout’ solution provides faster payment processing across the board and can reduce the fees incurred by operating companies.

Wessex Bus’ Uniconnect network in Bath will go live with Corethree’s m-ticketing solution on Monday 23rd September 2013 as part of Bath University’s freshers’ week. Over the next 12 months, Corethree and Barclays will rollout their mobile payment services to other transport operators to reach as many as 1 million passenger journeys per day.
