The historic city in Spain has taken a modern approach to e-mobility, ensuring its public transport is sustainable moving forward.

This feature – dedicated to alternative power – focuses on how the city of Valladolid undertook the task of electrifying one of its bus lines to enable more sustainable public transport.
The city of Valladolid worked to implement several actions focused on urban mobility through the Horizon 2020-funded REMOURBAN project. Here Ángela Rivada, REMOURBAN Project Manager, Agency of Innovation and Economic Development, Valladolid City Council, details some of the main benefits of concentrating on energy efficiency and offers advice to other cities regarding implementing e-buses in urban spaces.
The deployment of e-buses required quality charging infrastructure, resulting in the installation of Furrer+Frey’s stations. Within this feature, Furrer+Frey details its All-In-One bus charger that has enabled the electrification of bus line number seven in Valladolid, and led to the rollout of e-bus services in two other Spanish cities – Irun and Pamplona.
