Rupa Nandy

Rupa Nandy is Head of UITP India (the International Association of Public Transport) and is responsible for the expansion, development and management of membership, research, events and the training portfolio of UITP in India.

At UITP, Rupa is involved in various projects relating to electric buses, with a focus on planning, procurement and the financing of electric buses in India. She has 15 years’ of experience in the urban transportation and infrastructure sector.

In the past, she has worked with new mobility cab players, where she was leading a category that was driven and ridden by women. She has been involved in strategy and business development for large transportation projects and in various key transportation project implementations, such as Automatic Vehicle Location System in all public transit buses of Delhi, Detailed Design and Engineering Report for BRTS corridors, the implementation of an Automatic Fare Collection System and various transportation studies.
