Arriva North West has transformed bus travel across the region this year…
Arriva North West has transformed bus travel across the region this year with a final investment of £3.7million in new buses for Bootle and Birkenhead, taking the total investment figure for the year to over £8million.
66 new buses hit the roads in the North West during 2012 as part of the bus company’s ongoing investment, including the 16 buses in Bootle and 13 in Birkenhead. Further investment this year has included brand new, fully accessible buses in St Helens, Macclesfield, Chester and Runcorn.
All of the new vehicles feature low floors enabling easy access and CCTV, as well as the latest fuel saving technology to make them more environmentally friendly.
Phil Stone, managing director for Arriva North West, said: “Arriva is committed to providing the best possible service for our customers, and we continue to invest in our fleet.
“New buses not only make a huge difference to our passengers in terms of comfort and reliability, but also have an impressive environmental impact.
“Our latest investment in new buses in Birkenhead and Bootle really tops off a year of impressive investment to services across the region and we look forward to our hybrid and gas buses arriving in 2013.”
