Go-Ahead Group companies won six awards at this week’s prestigious UK Bus Awards…

Go-Ahead Group companies won six awards at this week’s prestigious UK Bus Awards, including the Putting Passenger First Award for Go North East.

Anthony Smith, Chief Executive of Passenger Focus, presented awards to the following:

  • Putting Passengers First Award – Go North East for The Key smartcard
  • Unsung Heroes Award – Ron Haynes, Operations Manager at Brighton and Hove
  • Top National Bus Depot – Crawley Depot, Metrobus
  • Top London Bus Driver Award – Roy Lamb, Stockwell, Go-Ahead London
  • London Bus Garage of the Year – Merton, Go-Ahead London
  • Top Express Operation – The Airline, Oxford Bus Company.

Go-Ahead businesses also fared well in the runners-up categories with the award for innovation going to the Oxford Smartzone (Oxford Bus Company in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council and Stagecoach Oxford. Metrobus, for services in Horsham, were runners-up in both the Marketing Excellence and Top Shire Operation Categories and Go North East were runners up in the Top City Operation category.
