Alstom as part of consortium was selected by São Paulo Metro to supply infrastructure on the second phase of the new metro Line 4-Yellow. The contract is worth around €40 m to Alstom. The second phase is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015.

About 13 kilometres long, the metro line 4 includes 11 stations and will carry about 1 million passengers daily. Alstom is in charge of over 70% of the infrastructure contract, which includes the supply of power (medium and low voltage, beyond the rigid catenary system), telecommunications (monitoring stations for cameras, VoIP phone system, as well as the TV and sound system in the stations), a local control system (information from stations to control centre) and auxiliary systems (fire detection, lighting, ventilation and yard equipment).

“Following a successful partnership during the first phase of the project to supply systems and equipment, Alstom is pleased to be awarded phase 2 of the contract by Sao Paulo Metro. This enduring partnership aims to provide Sao Paulo citizens with the best transport solutions,” said Marco Contin, Managing Director of Alstom Transport in Brazil.
