A fleet of green angels have took to the roads of the north east, the result of a £4.5 million investment by Go North East, supported by the Governments green bus fund, in high specification hybrid double deck buses for its Angel 21 service.
The new Angel service features:
- Free onboard wi-fi
- Unlimited weekly travel for just £16
- Next stop information
- A bright new green look featuring a new Angel design
- A bus every 8 minutes between Newcastle & Chester le Street and every 15 minutes to Durham from 11 November
- Powered by battery or diesel engine, either running together or independently give a very quiet and comfortable ride
- Cleaner air with exhaust emissions cut by up to 50%
Pictured are some of the surprised passengers on the Angel 21 receiving their free goodies, including a week of free travel, from Go North East’s green angels.
“Since the new buses launched we’ve had some great feedback from customers, during the green angel events and on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Customers have also been encouraged to join the #greenangels21 conversation on Twitter which is going down well” said Stephen King, Go North East’s Marketing & Sales Manager. “More fun events are planned for later in the year and into 2013 including activities with schools and a fun online viral video, to support our investment whilst getting our passengers involved in the fun” he continued.
