15.5 million Euro order calls for 67 Urbino standard and articulated buses. All new Solaris buses to be delivered to operator Burgasbus by mid-2013. Contract is confirmation of Solaris’ position in Bulgaria.

Solaris BusThe Bulgarian city of Burgas has chosen the state-of-the-art Solaris Urbino city bus to renew its bus fleet. Burgasbus, the operator of bus services in the city, placed a 15.5 million Euro order for of 67 Urbino city buses, which will be delivered by the middle of next year.

The new fleet for Burgas will comprise 39 twelve-metre Urbino CNG buses and 28 articulated vehicles with diesel engines. All will soon serve Burgas’ inhabitants as well as tourists visiting this second-largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast.

This order confirms Solaris’ position on the Bulgarian market, where it has been present since 2010, when 30 trolleybuses were supplied by electric equipment partner Škoda Electric to the capital city Sofia.
