The bundle, ViaPass, has been available since 16 April 2018, through a partnership between Via and Mobike, with an aim to expand the partnership to other cities…
Via and Mobike have partnered to launch the first multi-modal transportation bundle, ViaPass, which will include both ride-share and bike-share in one subscription.
A four-week ViaPass will now include free Via rides and unlimited access to Mobike’s network of dockless bikes, for a low upfront fee.
To celebrate the launch, the companies have announced the #MyEarthDayCommute challenge: asking the residents of Washington D.C. to abandon their personal cars for one week and instead share a Via or a Mobike in an effort to reduce carbon footprints.
Alex Lavoie, US General Manager at Via, said: “We are excited to partner with Mobike to offer the first multi-modal ride-share and bike-share bundled pass. Via and Mobike are committed to providing smart and affordable alternative transportation options that offer D.C. residents more choices to ditch single-occupancy car trips and reduce traffic and congestion in our cities.”
Jason Wong, General Manager of the United States at Mobike, said: “We are thrilled to work together with Via to reduce the number of vehicles on our roads and combat climate change while offering consumers convenient, fun and community-conscious transportation options. We can’t imagine a better way to celebrate Earth Day than to commit to reducing your carbon footprint through shared rides and bike rides.”
