OTN Systems, the global market leader in fiber optic-based telecommunications backbone systems in metros, will install a fiber optic backbone for the Tren Urbano metro line in Lima, thereby gaining entry in the Peruvian market.
The Lima Metro, known to locals as the Tren Eléctrico, is an electric mass transit line in the Lima Metropolitan Area. The OTN Systems flagship product OTN-X3M, with a transport capacity of 10 Gbit/s and carrier grade Ethernet features, will be installed in this new metro project to support all the applications needed to operate the metro line. The OTN-X3M product family is the most reliable transmission equipment with the most secure IP/Ethernet features available on the market today. This multiservice network allows end-users to optimize the CAPEX and OPEX for their fiber optic telecom backbone systems with a user-friendly end-to-end management system.
OTN Systems first entered the Latin American market more than 15 years ago with projects in Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil and Chile.
