Today, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh announced GoldLinQ as the preferred proponent to operate Queensland’s first ever light rail system on the Gold Coast.
GoldLinQ is a group of companies consisting of KDR Gold Coast Pty Ltd, Bombardier Transportation Australia Pty Ltd, McConnell Dowell Constructors Pty Ltd and Plenary Group Pty Ltd.
Collectively the companies have decades of experience delivering and operating rail projects across Australia and around the world. As the preferred operator, GoldLinQ will design, build, operate and maintain the light rail system.
Having just been awarded the contract, GoldlinQ is mobilising resources and setting up their local office and will commence the project from 1 June 2011.
