Bombardier Transportation has delivered its BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 mass transit signalling solution…
Bombardier Transportation has delivered its BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 mass transit signalling solution for the first phase of the Shenzhen Metro Line 3 in southern China. This is the first application of Bombardier communication-based train control (CBTC) signalling technology on a steel-wheel, mass transit line in China.
Delivery of the system adapted to the operating requirements of the Chinese market, for Phase 1 was completed on schedule, within a tight time frame of 22 months, by Bombardier Transportation’s Rail Control Solutions teams in USA, Thailand and China. The line was officially opened on the 28th December 2010 and has carried more than 1 million passengers since the opening. The second phase of the system (an additional 10km of line, with 8 stations) is expected to be completed, with all 44 trains deployed, ahead of the Universiade (world university games) to take place in Shenzhen in August 2011.
CITYFLO 650 is a well established Bombardier CBTC solution operating successfully around the world, including in South Korea, Spain, UK, and USA with further projects underway in Brazil and Saudi Arabia. In China, Bombardier mass transit signalling systems are already operating successfully on the new Guangzhou Metro Pearl River Line and at Beijing International Airport. In addition, the CITYFLO 650 technology is currently being implemented on Tianjin Metro Lines 2 and 3.
Anders Lindberg, President, Rail Control Solutions, Bombardier Transportation said: “This milestone reinforces the excellent reputation of our CBTC technology globally and in China, a very important market for high-end mass transit signalling solutions. We have supplied CITYFLO solutions around the world, adapting our proven technology to the needs of our customers and we look forward to continuing to deliver our innovative technology.” Jianwei Zhang, President and Chief Country Representative, Bombardier China, added: “Bombardier Transportation is now a major supplier of rail transportation equipment in China. This latest installation further strengthens Bombardier’s presence in the Chinese signalling market and our expertise in the requirements of the mass transit rail control sector. I am confident in our continuous business expansion and success in China.”
Bombardier Transportation’s Rail Control Solutions portfolio covers the whole range of CITYFLO mass transit solutions, from manual to fully automatic, as well as communicationbased systems. It also provides BOMBARDIER INTERFLO mainline solutions, from conventional to ERTMS Level 2 systems. Bombardier also provides a complete palette of wayside and onboard signalling products.

I am a Railway Signal & telecommunication Expert, currently associated with an ADB project to design, procure and install the CBTC system on a Railway system in Asia. I shall appreciate if you email to me the documentation on CBTC that should cover the Architecture , System Planning, its adoption with Block schematic diagram and technical brochure and the description explaining how it functions. This would enable me to study and if feasible incorporate the specification etc in my report
Thanks
Dear MITTAL
Please send details CBTC Architecture , System Planning, its adoption with Block schematic diagram and technical brochure and the description explaining how it functions.
