GIRO’s 12th International HASTUS User Group was a tremendous success, attracting 165 attendees from 66 transit clients in 11 countries. Held in Montréal, the User Group educated public transit clients on the HASTUS 2011 software solution and how to use specific tools and new features to optimize service and operations.

Guest presentations

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) provided an overview of the agency and its improved performance, as well as presented a new branding campaign focussed on the environment. The STM also organized a technical visit to its new control center and generously provided conferences passes and transportation to all delegates.

The Société de transport de Laval (STL) gave a presentation on its recent project to implement a real-time passenger information system (PIS), which has improved both performance and customer satisfaction. The STL also hosted a visit to its control center as part of the activities available to User Group attendees.

Consulting firm Centigo presented a case study on MTR Stockholm’s successful fast-track installation of HASTUS in 2009, when the company took over responsibility for operating Stockholm’s underground metro system.

GIRO would like to thank the aforementioned attendees for their excellent presentations, as well as all delegates who participated in this year’s event. As always, client interest and feedback contributes greatly to the success of the company’s HASTUS User Groups.
