One of the largest transport companies in the Netherlands, Connexxion has ordered 40 new Solaris Urbino 18 articulated buses.
The buses will be used in the Amstelland-Meerlanden region (within the R-net public transport system) and all buses will be equipped with well-known Dutch engines, DAF, and propulsion units that will comply with Euro 6 emissions standards.
“This is a remarkable and very important procurement on the hermetic Dutch market,” said Zbigniew Palenica, Board Member in charge of Sales and Rolling Stock at Solaris. “We can assure R-net and Connexxion passengers that we will deliver vehicles with top quality and safety standards.”
Solaris Bus & Coach is a major European producer of city, intercity and special-purpose buses as well as low-floor trams and is one of the largest suppliers of city buses in Europe.
This is the first ever order won by Solaris forthe Dutch market and the buses will be delivered by the end of 2017.
