Speaking at the unveiling, National Express Managing Director Peter Coates said: “This latest £8 million investment means that during 2016, we are introducing nearly 100 new Platinums in the West Midlands. When the roll-out is finished, these luxurious new buses will be carrying passengers in every district in the Black Country.

“These beautiful buses are our pledge as part of the West Midlands Bus Alliance – to increase the amount of people taking the bus, to keep our customers happy and to keep the air clean across the West Midlands.”

Latest National Express West Midlands buses feature WiFi and USB chargers

Built in Britain by ADL, the Platinum’s are lighter and more fuel efficient than conventional buses by incorporating Euro 6 engines. Features of the vehicle include WiFi, increased leg room, high-backed comfortable seating and USB at-seat chargers.

Additional features for the driver include a Probax seat cushion to improve posture and comfort; and the new Sideriser 2 seat pedestal with a simpler adjustment mechanism, which allows drivers to note their preferred settings and dial them in. Platinum’s also have automatic headlights and saloon lights.
