Growing communications integration company, Alan Dick Communications Group (ADComms Group), has this week acquired Installation Project Services Limited (IPS), a provider of end-to-end integrated communications systems and services within the rail, underground, and government/enterprise sectors. The agreement will see the organisation expand its total solution capability across rail and other critical infrastructure markets, adding Transport for London (TfL) to its expanding customer base.
The deal, made for an undisclosed sum, sees the ADComms Group strengthen its position as a market leader of integrated communications services across the rail and underground sectors.
The acquisition provides the ADComms Group with both a London base and a nationwide operational and engineering presence with now close to 200 staff.
IPS, based near Croydon, specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of passenger communications, information and display systems, security and CCTV systems, as well as mission-critical first-line maintenance and support services.
The integrated business will trade as IPS Communications Limited, and will be managed by Steve Harris (managing director) and Bob Clayton (business development director) in Coulsdon, Surrey.
Steve Harris, managing director, said: “We’re delighted to be part of the ADComms Group. We’ve watched the company’s growth from afar, and we’re thrilled to be joining such a highly respected organisation. Indeed, our standing in the south east and across the underground sector is a perfect complement to the existing skill set of the ADComms Group. IPS Communications Limited will continue to build on the strong reputation established by IPS, and provide a broader range of first-class services to our customers”.
Jason Pearce, managing director of the ADComms Group, added: “These are exciting times for the ADComms Group. With IPS, we are now able to offer a total operational capability including platform and station communications design. The combined businesses will be able to offer a much wider technical and geographical engineering capability delivering end- to-end communications design and integration, across both mainline rail and TfL customer base. We’re excited by this important acquisition, and believe strongly the new IPS business is well placed to offer our customers innovation within their supply chain, and to meet the numerous market opportunities available within UK rail and underground infrastructure.
“As London cements its position as a truly global city, and the UK rail infrastructure prepares for digitalisation, it is our ambition as a management team to be part of that technological progression. Through the acquisition of IPS, we have taken another step forward to realising that vision,” he concluded.
