A new state-of-the-art fleet management solution designed for maximum efficiency, economy and safety in operation…

MiX Fleet Manager

With more than 15 years experience of delivering leading-edge telematics solutions worldwide, MiX Telematics is now raising the bar even higher with the introduction of MiX Fleet Manager.

MiX Fleet Manager forms a key element in the MiX Telematics’ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model. As such, MiX Fleet Manager features a powerful, latest-generation onboard computer developed from the tried, tested and proven MiX Telematics FM solution. Data captured by the computer is relayed to an all-new online software and reporting suite which has been designed from the ground up to be clear, intuitive and simple to use across all internet-enabled computer, smartphone and tablet platforms. All data is stored on MiX Telematics’ secure servers, with reports and alerts being available to operators 24/7.

“From the user’s perspective, the online software and reporting suite will be the primary point-of-contact with MiX Fleet Manager, so this is naturally where we have focused a great deal of attention to ensure ease of use,” comments Steve Coffin, Marketing and Operations Director for MiX Telematics. “MiX Fleet Manager” has been developed in conjunction with feedback from operators worldwide and provides what is arguably the most comprehensive mobile asset monitoring and reporting solution on the market today.

“Adding further value to the overall package is the bespoke range of MiX Fleet Manager consultancy services we provide in support of our customers nationwide. Far from simply just selling hardware and software systems, our approach is to work in close collaboration with our operators to ensure maximum benefit is achieved in every case on an ongoing basis.

To do this, we have a specialist in-house team with many years experience of working within the transport industry. Their remit is to develop an in-depth understanding of each and every transport application with which they come into contact. They then work in partnership with our customers to build fleet management solutions which are truly effective and fit-for-purpose.”

While MiX Fleet Manager can be used in conjunction with a wide range of onboard equipment such as accident recorders, safety cameras and specific function-sensors, no single feature offers more in terms of potential gains than the optional MiX Telematics RIBAS system. Proven in service by operators worldwide, RIBAS can positively influence drivers’ performance behind the wheel in terms of economic, efficient and safe driving.

RIBAS is a dashboard-mounted display unit featuring an array of Green/Amber/Red status lights. The coloured lights reflect the current driving-style by telling the driver when he or she is driving correctly, when a pre-programmed operational parameter (see below) is in danger of being exceeded and when a parameter has been exceeded. In this way, RIBAS works pro-actively to help drivers stay within their vehicle’s pre-programmed safety and efficiency parameters at all times.

The green status light, which takes the form of a MiX Telematics logo at the foot of the display unit, indicates that a vehicle is being driven correctly. In such circumstances, this is the only light illuminated on the display.

The amber and red status lights are incorporated into the icons appearing alongside the RIBAS letters, each of which stands for a pre-programmed operational parameter where:

R = over Revving
I = excessive Idling
B = harsh Braking
A = harsh Acceleration
S = over Speeding

Whenever a parameter comes close to being exceeded, the amber light illuminates, alerting the driver to a potential problem and thereby allowing corrective action to be taken. The amber light is intended purely as a warning sign; no record of an infringement is made against the driver by MiX Fleet Manager at this time. However, should the amber warning be ignored and the parameter exceeded, the infringement is recorded by MiX Fleet Manager and the red light illuminates.
