Arriva Midlands has brought in extra buses on two popular routes in Leicester to ensure that services remain reliable.
The 5,5A service to Melton Mowbray via East Goscote and the 126 & 127 to Loughborough, Shepshed and Coalville have both benefited from the £280k investment.
Arriva Midlands regional managing director, Alex Perry, said: “Through our rigorous and regular monitoring process, we saw the need to improve these two key services. Adding new buses to these routes means we can continue to provide frequent, reliable and robust services that provide a favourable alternative to travelling by car. Our customers expect and deserve nothing less!”
The new buses were introduced earlier this month. Updated timetable leaflets are available from Arriva Midlands’ travel shop at St Margaret’s Bus Station in Leicester, and will also be available at local libraries and Tourist Information Centres.
The 5,5A, 126 and 127 services from Leicester run every 10 minutes during peak periods, and up to 30 minutes at less busy times of day.
Arriva Midlands operates services right across the region, from Shrewsbury in the West to Leicester in the East, and has frozen the price of most Multi-Journey Savers.
