Alstom Citadis trams have begun operation on the new T2 line linking the airport of Toulouse Blagnac to the centre of Toulouse.
The new trams are able to transport 200 passengers on 2.4 kilometres stopping at three stops along the route. The Citadis tram is 32 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, its interior features include a fully low floor, air conditioning, video surveillance, passenger counting system and audio and visual information systems.
The Citadis trams of Tisseo network in Toulouse have been produced at Alstom’s sites in France: La Rochelle for the design and assembly, Ornans for the motors, Le Creusot for the bogies, Tarbes for the drive train systems and Villeurbanne for the on board electronics. The Citadis trams, of which 28 sets are in circulation on the Toulouse network, are up to 98% recyclable and assistance in environmental management of the city.
