The Finnish city of Tampere is launching a procurement process for a greenfield Tram system.

The procurement will be based on an alliancing model, where the city will procure a partner that will design, build and also potentially maintain the system together with the city. Tram rolling stock will be procured as a separate procurement along with the rail infrastructure. The tram system’s total length is 23.5km consisting of three phases and will serve some 50,000 passengers per day when ready.

The Finnish state is expected to contribute 30% of the infrastructure cost of the project.

An industry day will be held on 17 November 2014 in Tampere.

Interested parties are asked to e-mail [email protected] with contact details for an invitation to the information day. Registrations by 12 November.
