In line with its commitment to transition to a 100% zero emissions bus fleet by 2040, San Diego's MTS will begin operating the region's first battery electric rapid bus service in Autumn 2023 in South Bay.
San Diego MTS and North County Transit District's Free Ride Day 2022 will provide San Diegans with the opportunity to join the clean air movement across the State of California, while reducing emissions and improving air quality.
The new funding will allow San Diego MTS to continue modernising its system, further advance its transition to a zero-emission bus fleet and enhance safety for its riders.
