David Hytch
Technical Lead, Calmac Ferries
David has been active in transport technology and innovation for 28 years. He is currently the Technology lead for the introduction of Smart Ticketing and Reservations for Calmac Ferries including passengers and vehicles, and multi modal products with other Scottish transport modes.
He successfully directed the CIO, Highways Management, Road Safety and Environment management functions for Transport for Greater Manchester.
David has led Smart Ticketing activities for Rail, Bus, Tram and Ferries including ITSO and non ITSO schemes and including Passengers, Freight and Vehicle ticketing and reservations.
David serves on the European Program Committee for the ITS World Congress and as an assessor for Innovation UK on Intelligent mobility, Mobility development and testing and, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles. He is a non-Exec Director with EV charging company Franklin Energy
He has served on the Automotive Council Technology group, DfT expert panel for Strategic Road development, and Accessible Transport bodies. David is a Director of Parkgate Consultants working on a wide range of projects and assignments in the Transport and Technology arena, including Franchise Bids, Supplier assessments and evaluations, and Programme delivery.
