Managing Director, Metro Service
Since 2008 Claudio Cassarino has been the Managing Director of Metro Service Copenhagen, the operator and infrastructure manager of the metro in Copenhagen.
Claudio Cassarino has more than 25 years of experience in the Public Transport sector in Italy and Denmark. Under his innovative leadership, Metro Service has delivered a significant return on investment for the shareholders, a consistently high service availability, impressive customer satisfaction, as well as supporting the start-up and mobilization of many newly-built driverless Metros such as Riyadh, Milan, Brescia and Rome.
Claudio Cassarino holds a degree in Information Technology and is a member of UITP IT & Innovation Committee. He has participated as a speaker in many conferences such as Scandinavian Urban Transport 2011 and 2012, UITP Metro Conference Vilnius 2011, Real-Time Passenger Information 2012, Mobility Europe 2011, North African Rail 2010, the Annual Modern Railways Conference 2013 in Singapore.
In 2017/early 2018, in a highly competitive market, Claudio Cassarino and his team managed to be awarded two future contracts; thus Metro Service will be responsible for the operation and maintenance for the entire Copenhagen Metro, including Cityringen, the Sydhavn extension and the Nordhavn extension, as well as the The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail (Hovedstadens Letbane).
