Basel SBB: how to deal with a congested traffic hub

Date: 1 November 2018
Time: 12:00

Congestion in urban transport systems is a global phenomenon. Track and train capacity has been expanded in order to keep up with increasing passenger volumes. But now pedestrian congestion in transport hubs threatens operational stability. For many people it is the most straining aspect of city life. So what can be done?

With this successful case study of station Basel SBB, we explore the possibilities of Pedestrian Analytics, and how the ASE system can identify current traffic and hotspots within the system. We will also showcase real-time operational information for on-the-ground intervention, planning aides for extensions and predictive algorithms.
