Bus journeys have been boosted for passengers in Runcorn, thanks to a fleet of brand new buses being unveiled by Arriva Merseyside.

The five VDL Pulsar 200 buses will officially hit the roads this week and are operating across Arriva’s X1 route, which runs from Runcorn to Speke and on to Liverpool.

The new vehicles deliver a number of benefits, all are fitted with low floors for easy access, leather seats and the latest Euro 5 engine technology, making them more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

John Rimmer, area managing director for Arriva Manchester, said: “We are delighted to unveil the buses, which represent a significant investment in the services we provide in and around Runcorn.

“The introduction of these new vehicles means that all of the buses along our X1 route now have low floor access, making it easier and more comfortable for passengers to travel with us, and an improved journey experience overall.”
