Strukton Rail has won two new contracts to manage and maintain Storstockholms Lokaltrafik’s (SL’s) infrastructure on the Stockholm metro and Roslagsbanan. New contracts have been formulated, laying a larger responsibility with the contractor.

TrainStrukton Rail will be more accountable throughout the chain, from inspection, measurement and planning to implementation, while SL is refining its customer role. This means that Strukton Rail will take over part of SL’s current activities, while the duration of the contracts is five to nine years, starting in January 2013. The assignments are worth a total of 340 million euro (3 billion SEK).

“We are very proud and pleased with these assignments. Strukton has extensive experience in the Stockholm railway systems. With the new contracts, we will work together with SL to further increase the quality and reliability of the tracks. In this way, we wish to help increase the punctuality of traffic for the commuters”, says Robert Röder, president of Strukton Rail AB.
