County Antrim based operator Logans Travel have taken delivery of their first Volvo B7R Sideral 10 Sunsundegui coach.
Family-owned firm, Logans Travel are a long standing and loyal Volvo customer, who generally specify the Volvo Plaxton combination on their coaches. In 2010 the company bought their 100th Volvo chassis vehicle. This latest purchase marks the first time that they have selected a Volvo Sunsundegui Sideral 10 vehicle.
Established for over 40 years, Logans Travel now operates 22 Volvo coaches on private hire contracts and tour work throughout Northern Ireland and Europe, with reliability and fuel performance key requirements for the company.
“We needed a new mid-range vehicle to sit between some of the others we already have in operation,” explained Logans Travel, Operations Manager, Allan Davidson. “Our Managing Director, Sean Logan went to look at the available Volvos and was delighted to purchase this new Sideral 10 Sunsundegui – which is the first time we’ve ever specified that particular combination.”
“Here at Logans Travel, we are really big fans of the Volvo Plaxton combination, in fact we’ve just ordered 12 more, so it will certainly be fascinating to see how the Sideral 10 compares,” said Allan Davidson.
The B7R Sunsundegui Sideral 10 coach features the 7.1 litre Volvo D7E engine, which is capable of 230hp and combines common rail technology with a fuel injection system to provide low fuel consumption and a longer service life.
Logans Travel’s new coach is fitted with 40 seats with three point safety belts. It also features an onboard toilet, TV screens, DVD player and an integrated sound system.
“With Volvo we know that we get what we want and what our business requires,” continued Allan Davidson.
“Logans are long standing Volvo customers, who really like the Volvo Plaxton combination,” commented Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Duncan Crosby. “Therefore it was particularly pleasing to see them specify a Volvo Sunsundegui Sideral 10 with their latest purchase, because it allows them to experience the quality of some of the other bodybuilders that we also work with.”
