Intelligent Transport speaks with Jaanaki Momaya, UK General Manager, Lime, and Paloma Castro, Head of International Communications, Lime, for Episode 3 of the Intelligent Transport Podcast.

In the latest Intelligent Transport Podcast episode, we speak with Jaanaki Momaya and Paloma Castro from micromobility provider, Lime.

Jaanaki is Lime’s General Manager in the UK and Paloma is the Head of International Communications for Lime. During our discussion, we talk through the company’s start as LimeBike in 2017 and how it’s grown and diversified in the intervening years.

As sustainable, zero-emissions forms of transport, bikes and scooters have a significant part to play in cities around the world – it’s a topic that also plays no small part in this conversation. How can micromobility and active transport helps cities achieve wider policy goals?

Jaanaki explains the approach to working with cities and authorities, citing the rollout of services across London boroughs as an example. We discuss why there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution to mobility challenges and why implementation has to be carried out on a case-by-case basis.

As we know, the modern mobility scene is sparking something of a revolution in transport and Paloma tells us all about how that compares to transport revolutions of the past, and how this one is being driven forward by passenger demands and expectations thanks to the advancement of consumer technology.

We also look ahead to what the future might hold for Lime and the changing mobility landscape more broadly across the UK, Europe and further afield.
