Alstom will supply a further 20 metros as part of a contract with RATP which concerns the delivery of up to 217 MP14 trains over 15 years totalling over €2 billion.

MP14 metros increase capacity and quality of transport on line 4

Commenting on the order, Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud, Alstom France General Director said: “Alstom is delighted to receive an additional order for this material, which will mobilise the entire French railway industry. This metro contains numerous innovations, in particular related to reductions in energy consumption and total cost of ownership.”

The MP14 trains have been designed to increase the capacity and quality of transport on line 4. The metros enable full passenger circulation without separations between the cars and feature air conditioning and audio-visual information for passengers, ergonomic seating, LED lighting and regenerative electric braking. Furthermore, the material represents a 20 percent reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous generation.
